Hello Warriors!

I’m Axel Flores, founder and tour guide of Jaguar Journey. Originally from Oaxaca, my passion for history, culture, and adventure brought me to Cancun over ten years ago with a dream: to create a tour company that offers meaningful experiences rather than ordinary tours.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management and a diploma in Mexican History and Archaeology. Before founding Jaguar Journey, I spent several years working in the hospitality industry, where I learned that exceptional service is the foundation of every unforgettable travel experience.

For the past 16 years, I have independently dedicated myself to studying the ancient Maya civilization. My research has included books, scientific publications, archaeological journals, documentaries, and lectures, all driven by a genuine passion for understanding one of the world’s most fascinating cultures.

My curiosity has also taken me across the globe in search of humanity’s greatest archaeological treasures. I have traveled to remote and extraordinary destinations such as Easter Island, Hampi in India, Pompeii in Italy, Luxor in Egypt, Machu Picchu in Peru and Stonehenge in the United Kingdom, always seeking to better understand the mysteries of ancient civilizations. I truly believe that traveling is the best investment we can make in both our time and our lives.

In 2025, I had the incredible honor of being invited by my mentor, Dr. Danilo Callen, to join the restoration team of the Mirador Basin Archaeological Project in Petén, Guatemala, considered the world’s most important Maya archaeological project. This experience deepened my knowledge of Maya archaeology and strengthened my commitment to sharing this extraordinary heritage with others.

Beyond archaeology and tourism, I am passionate about sports, especially calisthenics and scuba diving. I also own an outdoor calisthenics gym in Cancun, where I spend much of my free time training, teaching, and building a community around health and personal growth.

Today, my greatest passion is guiding travelers through the wonders of the Maya world, sharing not only the history of these incredible places but also the stories, traditions, and discoveries that have shaped my own journey. Along the way, I love meeting people from around the world, exploring new places, and relaxing on the beach with my loyal companion, Luka, my dog.

Hello everybody!

I am Nizvan Ricárdez, a Systems Engineer and the web developer of the Jaguar Journey landing page. I’m a curious guy who loves programming, capturing the world through photography, and playing the piano. I share my days with two amazing pets: Capella, my restless cat, and Chicuquito, a naughty dog who is also my girlfriend’s beloved companion.

I’m always looking for new ways to learn, create, and grow!

Passionate about education, training, and human development, with a deep sensitivity to the soul and spirit. Throughout my life, I have combined my academic background in higher education and tourism management with an authentic vocation for teaching, inspiring, and transforming. My experience spans over two decades as a university professor, institutional trainer, organizational consultant, and speaker, covering topics ranging from management and tourism to emotional intelligence, leadership, and neuroscience. I have taught classes and led workshops at various universities and training centers across the country, as well as collaborated with governmental and private institutions.

I authored the book “Discover the Power of Emotional Intelligence with Mystical Creatures”, a work that reflects my connection to the symbolic, the mystical, and the spiritual—areas I also nurture personally through meditation and the development of inner sensitivity. I currently work at Jaguar Journey Cancún as General Manager.
